Conflict prevention is an Australian government priority. But in a more volatile global environment — marked by intensifying conflict, coercion and instability — the question is how Australia can strengthen its approach and operate more systematically across security, diplomacy, and development tools to prevent conflict before crises escalate. The Lab proposes an approach to navigate conflict prevention in this context. Led by Martina Zapf and William Leben.
Great strategy needs to understand what the known challenges are, and consider future trends. It also needs to listen to the voices and intelligence of the development community. This is exactly what the Lab has been doing as we consider next steps for the Government and new international development strategy.
